Re Suggestions for a 7- 7.6 ft 5wt. rod - Harry Boyd

Randall,
Perfect candidate for the rod I keep harping about,
the Payne 101. It's very fast for bamboo, and at 7'6" - 5
weight, it fits the bill perfectly. Remember the three rod
blanks I was working on at the Sowbug Roundup? All were
Payne 101 copies. Dennis Higham first recommended this rod
to me, and I've built half a dozen or more in the last year.

Tell you what -- look up Scott Branyan
(www.ozarkflyfliner.com ??) over in Rogers. Tell him I said
to let you try out his rod. That'll sell you for sure.

        Harry
