Re travel rod - Ron Huff

Dave and Christian, Here is the taper for the Phillipson Smuggler. The
measurements do NOT have the deduction for varnish. The condition of the
rod is excellent with the varnish at full thickness.
   1" .086
    5.25 .102 Due to guide
   10. .122
   15 .136
   20 .158
   25 .179
   30 .184
   35 .193
   40 .210
   43.75 .220 due to ferrule
   50 .238
   55 .255
   60 .271
   65 .286
   71 .305 due to ferrule
   75 .297 ( I rechecked this)
   80 .339
   85 Grip

The guide pattern is from top of tip top.
  5.75
12.25
19.125
26.75
34.75
44.25
48.5
59.125 Stripper

IMHO this rod casts a 6 wgt at medium to long distance very nicely. Not
that great when in close. Minus 25 feet. Maybe would be better with a 7
wgt for in close. I hope this helps. Ron Huff

> List: Would anyone have a taper for a 4 piece, 5 wt. 8' or 8'6" rod, or
direct me to where I could find one? Planning a trip to New Zealand next
spring, and hope to get in a couple of days of the evidently great fishing!
Thanks in advance.
