Wallop Brook Taper - Luke

Here are the measurements for
A Wallop Brook 6'9" rod by Constable

It was measured with a mitutoyo digital micrometer over varnish
It was possible to measure the varnish in a couple of places and can
safely
Say it was a thou thick, 2 thou on the total thickness.

I measured the three faces in the same order each time,
As you will see there is a bit of variation but the rod has a nice
action
With very little "spine"

All the measurements could be made at 5" intervals, the only one that
had an eye in the way was at 15" so took the measurement at 14"

I was re gluing the ferrules and there was a reasonable amount of
whipping round the section to build it up

00 84 85 83
05 98 97 95 Tip section was 49 1/4"
10 118 114 116 long
14 130 124 129
20 142 139 142
25 151 149 146
30 170 166 163
35 176 175 181
40 190 185 188
45 211 206 213
48* 212 211 212
..............................Ferrule was 15/64
51 * 234 237 234
55 243 239 241 Butt section 31 1/2"
60 243 242 239
65 260 256 257
70 275 264 270

Handle was 8 3/4 long plus a 1/4 winding check

Measurements 48* and 51* was the last place that I could get a true
measurement after that the cane had been worked a bit in to the ferrules

Any questions feel free to ask if any one wants any photo's of handles /
ferrules just let me know

I'd be interested to see the results of different peoples
"evening up of the measurements"

Just to see the difference between say a hexrod user and
a pencil and paper man

( I'm sure with a bit of effort we can come up with more than one wallop
brook taper)

All the best

Luke
