The DNR has stocked the stream with rainbows to "replace or substitute" for the brown trout that were killed off in the manure spill of a a couple of years ago. The fish are uneducated at the moment.
I had great success the weekend of our club outing (Apr 23rd) and yesterday (Apr. 30th). Pink squirrels and a size 20 red annelid were my flies of choice, but at the outing others were also catching fish on Sanchez's "Biot Bug" and the more traditional pheasant tail nymphs.
