Well, last Wednesday I took the day off from work to head over to BEC. I wanted to go back to the hole I had been fishing when we were there for the outing.

Much to my surprise, though, a van of high schoolers and their teacher showed up right behind my car. The teacher informed me that the DNR would be coming upstream doing an electro survey. His quote to me was, "You will actually have a chance to SEE all the fish you aren't catching!"

Boy was he right! It was unbelieveable to see the number of large browns in that stream. The folks from the DNR were gracious enough to let me get my hands on an 18" and have my picture taken (don't worry, I haven't claimed it for my own catch!) Even they mentioned how they have come back to the stream a couple of days later to fish it, and the fish just aren't interested.

I didn't have any catches for the day, but it proved to be a unique day on the stream that I will remember for a while. (and besides, I wasn't at work.)

Collin
