Spent the last couple weeks fishing and hunting Morel mushrooms in Richland and Crawford Counties. The fishing was great. Caddis immatation size 16 was the dry fly of choice and the much talked about "pink squirrel" size 14 and 16 was the winning nymph.
We walked the banks of the meandering streams and enjoyed the countless variety of bird life comming through this time of year. The warblers flitting from branch to branch were almost as enjoyable as hooking into a nice wild brown or brookie. And the combination of both made me think that heaven might be here on earth!
The morel mushrooms are in their prime, and a trout dinner adorned with these mushrooms is a culinary delight. Add to this, a martini, cigar, and Nora Jones on the CD player and you have the perfect end to a perfect day!!!

Catch what you can eat and release the rest,
Terry
