: : Anyone been to lake Beulah? My trout fishing guide says that they have trout in there, and was wondering if this place would be worth a trip this time of the year.

As far as I know they have not stocked any trout in Lake Beulah in many years. I have heard from some "old timers" that the DNR had stocked trout back in the 70's. From what I heard the Northern Pike population grew fat on the trout and the fishermen caught very few. It is a GREAT bass and blue gill lake with a good population of big crappies. It is best to fish it on weekdays either early in the morning or at night. I have had good luck fishing it from about 5am untill 10 am. Then I go back to the "old salt mine". I usually fish for bass in 3 to 8 feet of water with deeper water nearby. It is a great fishing lake but not if you are looking for trout.
